قامت جمعية مرضى التصلب العصبي الكويتية بتدشين حفل حملة التوعية لمرض التصلب العصبي المتعدد ممثلة برئيس مجلس الإدارة أ. يوسف الكندري و تحت رعاية الدكتور وزير الصحة د. باسل الحمود الصباح وبحضور الشيخة/ شيخة العبدالله الصباح والشيخة / أنيسة الصباح و استشاري المخ و الاعصاب د. رائد الروغاني و نخبه من افضل اطباء وزارة الصحة و الكادر التمريضي و المهتمين بقضايا ذوي الإعاقة
وتم تدشين الحملة لتوعية المجتمع حول مرض التصلب اللويحي المتعدد، وأثره على المرضى وعائلاتهم، وستستمر هذه الحملة لمدة ستة أشهر وسيتم خلالها عدة محاضرات وأنشطة توعوية لدعم المصابين بمرض التصلب اللويحي المتعدد و ذويهم و المجتمع بهذا المرض المزمن
و تشير الأبحاث إلى أن هناك ما يقارب من ٢٠٠٠ شخص مصاب بهذا المرض في الدولة، وهو يعتبر من أمراض المناعة الذاتية التي تؤثر على الجهاز العصبي المركزي المتمثل في الدماغ والحبل الشوكي.
ومرض التصلب العصبي المتعدد قد يؤثر على جوانب عدة في صحة المريض، ففي العديد من الحالات يتأثر النظر والحركة والحالة الإدراكية، إضافة إلى الحالتين الوظيفية والنفسية.
و العلاج يرتكز على الاكتشاف المبكر والتشخيص الدقيق، و الحملة تهدف إلى رفع وعي العامة، ودعم مرضى التصلب العصبي المتعدد وتثقيفهم لفهم مرضهم بشكل أفضل، والتأقلم مع حياتهم اليومية، إلى جانب تثقيف الأسر و توعيتها وإرشادها إلى كيفية مساعدة الفرد المصاب بالمرض.

وقد استمتع الحضور بالفقرة الترحيبية من مدرسة العديلة الابتدائية بنات.
Kuwait Multiple Sclerosis Association launched the MS awareness campaign, represented by the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Mr. Yousef Al-Kandari and under the auspices of Minister of Health Dr.Bassel Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah and in the and attendance of Sheikha / Sheikha Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah and Sheikha / Anisa Al-Sabah and Dr. Raed Al Roughani Consultant Neurologist, elite Consultant and Doctors from the Ministry of Health, associated with the nursing staff and who are interested in Disability
The campaign was launched to educate the community about MS and its impact on patients and their families. The campaign will last for six months and will include several lectures and awareness activities to educate and support MS patient and their families and the community of this chronic disease.
Research shows that there are about 2,000 people diagnosed with the disease in the country, affecting the central nervous system of the brain and spinal cord.
Multiple sclerosis may affect several aspects of a patient's health and life. In many cases, vision, movement and cognitive state are affected, as well as functional and psychological conditions.
The treatment is based on early detection and accurate diagnosis. The campaign aims to raise public awareness, support MS patients, educate them to better understand and manage their chronic disease, adapt to their daily lives, educate families and educate them on how to help an individual with the MS.
An awareness-raising film was presented with the distribution of brochures to the audience.
